Hey people i was talking to my mate, and he says that i can make my 90bhp version of the ph2 saxo faster by putting a vts box on it with a lsd is this possible and what else would i need and also would the vts head fit too? see at the min i have induction kit and a full supersprint system and i have a strut brace on order and the front springs on the garage and harder rear dampers. i am really considering selling my saxo for a austin mini turbo or a vauxhall astra coupe 2.2 as i aint finding the saxo fun enough help please to make it fast lol

it wont be top end faster, but accleration it is (slightly)

youll never hit the limiter with a vtr box in 5th but will on a vts box.

to make it faster, get a manifold, and you could cam it....(depending on budget)

i got a mani so will i just need cam for it ? what about chipping after the camming it or is it not worth it
  4. #4
    chipping is gay....

if your going to cam it you'll want a remap, or gain a little more with a standalone ecu (kms, omex...etc) for best gains,

youll also need a venier pulley

will all that then put a smile on my face you recon? i mean a vts any day or a skyline please i can get the car easy but the insurance would kill me i got a quote for a vts the other day 5,999 tpft i managed to get the vtr to 1100 tpft still arse raped

    well......

ive had my vtr for over a year now, its lowered and just fitted a piper system (quite raspy) and i love it lol.......ive spent a fair bit on it, and still love it (even if it has done 99k lol)

i reckon the catcam that kam sell would be the best....

i just had a look now there is two queries it says for the late model and roller rocker well my car is not either ?
  8. #8
think yours is the later modle (like mine)

as the black tops where the roller rockers......
  9. #9
    mine is grey
  10. #10
do the right thing and get an s lump in there tbh

also the blacktops are non roller and the silver tops are roller type
  11. #11
    you say that.........

but when youve done it 3 times lol, its easyier to fit a cam lol.....
  12. #12
is camming a vtr easier than a vts or just as much the same?
  13. #13
caming a vtr would be easier than fitting a vts engine....

camming a vts would be the same, just twice aslong lol

aslo more power from the vts
  14. #14
would a haynes workshop manual show you how to or is it simple enough with out that?
  15. #15
i was just one about whacking a vts lump in without camming tbh

and yes a haynes manual should help you out on fitting a camshaft to a vtr engine
  16. #16
i should imagine it will yea...

you'll need to play around with the timing yourself though.
  17. #17
i would but would mean changing the log book telling the insurance and other stuff be easier to purchase a vts. but i cant afford vts and insurance together
  18. #18
well id just save your money tbh mate

up to but you could be different and cam a VTR as theres not many about these days
