Emry cloth for badges?

   I am going to do my badges white, but obviously i need to sand them! I bought some emry cloth but i am thinking it might be to coarse, what do you think?
   
   If it did leave deep scratches the laquer would sort that out right?

   I didn't sand my badges and they turned out fine in the end mate.
   
   The interier and everything else yes but for my badges and chevrons I just did everything as normal, primer, paint, laquer minus the sanding and came out fine
