New clutch

    Release/thrust bearing has gone in my car not being covered by my warrenty im going to end up paying for it myself.
    I am also going to change the clutch over aswel as i think its on the way out and am told its economical to do it now.
    What kind of clutch kit am i going to need? where can i get one from? Would it be best to go to a garage and get them to order in the parts? Is there any better clutch kits i can buy, if so what makes them better?

    Also how much would i be looking at for kit and fitting,

    check out Kam Racing Website...they stock OEM Clutches as well as uprated one aswell

    Whats difference with them tho? What makes it better?

    Do the kits come with everything i will need that will fix the whining aswel??

    we sell a lot more of the transmech ones than the valeo and haven't had one complaint back.

    They are supposed to be equal

    Just been to Mr. Clutch
    To do it they will want £249.99 i'm not sure if this is a good price or not. Going to ask a few places around. I asked how much for just labour aswel and is £215 or something so i wouldnt buy my own kit if this was the case.

    Whats a good price for this kind of work? anybody recommend anywhere?

    I think you could get a mechanic to fit a new clutch for under £200 labour.

    Worth looking up some of the smaller 1 man band garages. I know a few local to here but they are a little distant from Swindon

    I had a new clutch fitted last year, cost about £175 all in. Was quite pleased with that.

    You should be, i been ringing around today and Mr.clutch is the cheepest i have found at £244.99 which i got yesterday when i went into the store. Cheepest ive had today is £302 and go all the way up to £516!!

    mate i had my new gearbox clutch and engine mounts fitted by my mechanic for 180 quid so im sure he can do your clutch for a bit less mate. ill add you on msn

    thats the type of mechanic you need to find. The bigger garages want to supply you with parts as well so they make more money.
