   I got a VTS and was wondering how many miles do you get out of a tenner. At the moment I'm only gettin around 80 for £10 worth of petrol. Gutted, its costing me a bomb!!

   i get around 100 miles to a tenner on my 98 vtr.

   I was thinkin that maybe its because the gearbox is f***ed. I gotta get a new one pretty sharpish! Would i be getting lower miles to the gallon because of this?

    all depends on how u drive son!!
    
    mine normally gets around 80-95mile off a tenner

    thats a bad way to judge how ur car is doing tho, u shud judge it by how far it goes per tank not per £10 becasue the price of petrol is always changing.
    
    just btw i got 300miles outta 1.1i, better than a few weeks back wen i got 270! been driving a bit slower!

    i get 250 - 270 from a tank and my vts is supercharged!
    
    my mate only gets 250 from a standard 106 gti!
