handbrake help

    my handbrake isnt holding the car on hills. and it isnt brakeing untill after about 5 clicks which i think it should be 3? if thats right? anyway i need to no how to adjust it so it comes on after 3 clicks. cheers anyway guys n gals, rep will be given as usual lol. o its a vtr disks on back and front if that makes a difference i dont no/ lol

    to adjust cable you need to remove exhaust shield from centre section,
    Its a 13mm nut but would o thought 5 clicks was ok,
    Would have a look at pads /discs might be ok on face
    remove and have a look on rear side as this side gets
    all the crud

    a good hand brake is about 2 and just about 3 clicks tbh

    thats what mine is and is great

    the sield can just be slid along the exhaust tbh, loosen nuts and slide down towards the front of the car, tbh i just took mine off, its fine witout them tbh

    leave handbrake off and chock the front wheels, then tighten the 13mm nut as said, keep checking the handbrake until its about 2 - 3 clicks

    if it does nothing then check pads and also it maed new cabling as it will stretch over time

    If your vtr has 2 silencers, its easier to just drop the exhaust off its 3 rear mounts then doin the shields.

    cheers for that guys, ile let you no how i get on, not been able to do much lately, with the weather being crap, wish i didnt move then i would still have a nice cosy garage with tunes.

    still not had time to sort this yet, but i forgot to mention i have recently replaced the rear disks and pads, and since my handbrake isnt has effective as it should be, suggestions please!!! cheers again for your help.

    brakes need time to bed in mate, adjust the nut, it doesnt long to do trust me

    cheers pred. the handbrake has got better over time. just it isnt quite up to your 2 clicks yet lol.
