I have grown tired of my custard suspension in my saxo so its time for a change.

i am a student and dont really rake large amounts of money in

i was about to purchase some hottuning coilies from ebay, then i saw the post about how crap they are

Can anyone recommend me a decent set to me, just for road use purposes.

i seen a raceland set which lowers the front -60mm and the rear -40mm max

advice a recommendations welcome, or maybe you know someone selling

to be honest matey....coilies are ment for the purposely built track cars in my opinion. Seeing as you have a Furio...just but an Apex sus kit from Kam Racing...perfect budget suspension and no-one has complained (from what i have seen)

if you have big plans for the car (Engine transplant, full blown track car) then find out info on coilies..and what is best...FK, H&R ect ect...then save up as your a student!

hottuning coilovers are made by Raceland

Coilovers per say are a good thing .. but unfortunately not the cheap ones. they sacrifice component quality for the adjustability and it shows even on normal roads.

Out on track most cheap coilovers are seriously outclassed by average quality conventional setups.

    do you really need them?

answer is no, for the hassle its going to take to fit them.

Get a decent suspension kit like the 50mm apex kit.

unless you convert the rear its only the front you would be able to adjust with the ease.

Most people want coilovers so they can brag they have coilovers. Apart from height adjustability they are no better than a conventional spring and shock combo, probably worse if you buy cheap.

I agree with the apex kit, it really is good for the money, a mate of mine has it and its as good as my billie setup imo.

LOL! A good set of coilovers will set you back £600+ for a saxo and they WILL out perform "conventional spring and shock combos" when set up right due to alot having seperate rebound and compression adjustment, as well as the ride height.

I agree though, no point on a saxo living on the road.
