Tyre Width?

   i have a set of 16" nimrods that currently have 195/40/16 tyres on, the front will need replacing soon and was thinking that 205/40/16 would be cheaper (which they are) so would these fit on? would they be safe, etc...?

   Had that size on my 16's and it wasnt a problem...

   Ive got some 205/45/16 wheels, the back wheels dont fit on and the front wheels rub on the brake lines and are a few mm off the springs.. So they aint safe.

   i seeking a more specific answer on nimrods rather than other 16" rims as the offsett and width will be different
