Important! : Car Lower one side then Other By 1"

    Hi

I have a Mk1. R Reg Saxo. Today at college when i was walking up to my car it looked a bit lower on the REAR RIGHT then it did on the rear left, so i whipped out the tape measure (As i carry one on me in collge all the time, i'm a trainee Carpenter/ joiner) and measured the heights from floor to under the car. And they were roughly an inch out, 25mm. So i thought maybe its uneven ground, did it again at my house, same reading, and then did it again at super market, same reading.

Anyone know whats the matter whith it? I havn't check the front height, that looks fine tbh but will do that soon.

Seem's to think a fucked torsion or any thing?

    Rep is awaiting.

    Thanks!

if its been lowered, it might not have been lowered acuratley enough!

I don't think its been lowered, but theres a Mk2 1.1 Saxo across the road from me, and his rear end seems higher then mine. I havn't had it lowered and it hasn't been lowered (as far as i'm aware) as it was only owned by one person before me, a farmer.

How much would be be looking at for a new Torsion bar? Wouldn't it be easier to lower the whole car instead for setting a new torsion bar up to the same height as the car?

How much for springs you recon?

    Cheers!

:/ might be a new axle mate, take it to a garage see what they say. I had a similar problem and its meant to be "near impossible" to fix, garages are tommy tank and I had to buy a new rear axle.

Id take it too a garage too, could be anything really, worn rear beam bushes, worn rear beam bearings, worn rear shocks etc.

Best to get it checked out mate.

At least get it looked at. It could be bad and affect handling, you dont want to end up in a ditch because you spent your money on the gf.

Plus if you get a police car behind you, your likely to get raped for having an unsafe car etc. Cheap the shock mate, see if its leaked any fluid

Tnh... if the police are behind me and are like driving 10ft away you would never notice, only when its stationary etc.

I get paranoid when the police follow you.
