as it says why do people remove the cats, does itmake any differance to exhaust sound, as i notice a lot of people de-cat then put big back boxes on. I ask as i am considering putting a twin exhaust system on my mk1 vtr. I would like a box that is not mega loud but does get noticed and sounds quite nice. Is it possible to get a twin exit back box only that will fit direct onto my standard system and sounds fairly loud but nice.Any comments or recommendations on what one to buy greatly appreciated and repped. Cheers
why de-cat

#3Don't do it its illegal prepare to get bent over and shafted if caught..

#4Removing the cat makes the exhaust less restricted apparently but yes also not legal and will fail mot.

#15de cats are great, u lot are a bunch of queers.
decats sound better + give good gains -
#16A cat has baffles, thus restricts air flow, putting in a decat obviously frees up air flow, letting air release more freely, and slight power gains.

#17...but yes illegal, as it messes up emissions not having one, its there to help the ozone layer or somthing...
