Rubber exhaust mounts

    IVE JUST FITTED MY PIPER BACK BOX AND IT HANGS DOWN SLIGHTLY SO I NEED SOME SMALLER RUBBER MOUNTS BUT NOT SURE WHICH ONES OR WHERE FROM, IVE TRIED THE USUAL PLACES WITH NO JOY.

    I NEED TO KNOW A SIZE OR TYPE I CAN USE THE BACK BOX NEEDS TO RAISE UP ABOUT 1 AND A HALF INCHES TO SIT IN BUMPER ARCH NEATLY.

    PLEASE HELP GUYS ITS A BIT ANNOYING

    use plastic ties, it works for me , than you can adjust it perfect, the exhaust stays stable etc, hope that helped

    not sure i get what you mean , do you mean put the cable ties round the rubber mount to squeeze it up and in turn raise the back box?????????

    i mean... instead of putting the rubber mount on. use cable ties, it replaces it

    go on ebay and have a look mate, i have some powerflex i think they are bright yellow much better than the standard exhaust rubbers stiffer and hold better, dont use cable ties...

    id search myself for you but restricted at work

    just push the rear metal brackets upwards a bit if sitting to low.

    also lear the caps key cn be turned off

    i looked on ebay but was unsure of which to get and didnt see any powerflex either but ones i did see are sort of oval shaped yellow ones ???

    thanks mate maybe if i get no joy with rubbers ill use a combination of ties and the original rubbers., repped for the pic.

    U are a fool if you even contemaplte sing cable ties as a solution lol!

    as i said the metal can be bent upwards. or use proper rubbers NOT ties. Only way to really shorten oe rubbers are with metaljubilie clips

    thanks, its ok with heat because they were on when went on holiday(few hours of driving) they didnt even melt

    I wouldn't trust cable ties to hold my exhaust on persoanlly.

    Just bend the brackets up or use cable ties to squash the mounts up.

    it works fine mate, dont knock it until you've tried it , its been on a constant drive (heat from exhaust) and no problem

    thats what i meant by a combi of the ties and old rubbers to squeeze them up a bit but i will also bend the mounting bracket up too.

    I wouldnt ever try it. Bodging doesnt happen on my cars.

    because of my exhaust cap(avatar) i had to use them, i didnt want to cut the bumper, plus i dont no were to buy bigger ones and cant buy stuff off ebay and tried scrapyards for bigger ones and no joy
