Hi just had a de-cat. Slightly worried about the strong smell of rotten eggs. I heard the gases are poisonous and i can smell it really bad with the windows up inside the car. Will the smell wear off as it was de-catted today and smelled fuckin horrible driving it home. thanks

I always thought the cat was what would smell of rotten eggs, so getting rid of it means you wouldnt smell em.

Is the de-cat pipe new? New exhausts/ manifolds do smell a bit weird for a while until they bed in. I wouldn't worry about it mate.

just sounds like the metal wearing in exhausts to it untill they have been worn in from new

i had this problem when my manifold gasket blew. I pasted it up with the sealent used between the gasket and manifold to get a seal till i had time to replace the gasket. Correct me if im wrong but if this stuff was used then what you are smelling is sulpher from the paste as it hardens under heating - mine went away after a few trips. But as i say ... i may be talking bull

its just the smell of stale gas mate, sounds weird but now youve taken the cat off all the gases are flowin through pushin the stale gas out shud clear up after a while.
