Stupidest question ever......

   Hi all this will sound really stupid but i bought a VTR a few weeks back and when i got the keys it had a little one on it i assumed was the immobiliser but i cant find where it goes ..???? do all VTR's have immobislers? mines a 1999 T reg

   I thought the immobiliser was in the key when you try to start it?
   Mines a mk2 vtr though so might be diff.

   its about 4cm long rounded key and i thought immobilisres were standard but if its in the main key then thats cool.

   Could be an aftermarket immobiliser key, seen a few where you have to push it up against something before you can start it.

   My guess its the key from an aftermarket fuel cap or for your passenger airbag

    Do vtr's have the thing for turning the airbag off? as far as i gathered i thought it was only vts's that have it on the dash as do 106 gti's....
    
    Presuming its a fuel cap key as mine sounds exactly the same

    the airbag key is for the passenger airbag
    so if you don't have one you won't have a key for it
    
    get pics of the key
    it could be for something like a steering lock ECG that the previose owner had forgot was on the keys

    pretty sure its for passenger airbag as stated before just incase you need to disable it when having a baby / child seat in use

    Passinger airbag on Vts is disabled with the normal key. It doesn't have or need a special one, it can turned with amost anything with a flat edge!

    its not the petrol cap key.... dunno its probally the airbag key..
