    whats the best thing i can do to get my mk 1 vtr quicker?? the engine is standard apart from a universal back box.

    drive it off the edge of a cliff!
    only messing. depends on how deep your pockets are. to be honest pound for pound it would be better to get a vts engine and in the futuer go on from there. or turbo the "r" engine but again, how deep are your pockets? don do it the cheep way, get all the internal bit done so that the engine can take the boost without blowing up.

    uprate the suspension and brakes. these are the first things i would do first to be honest, then look at the rest of the engine work.

    Stiffen the car up, Uprated Suspension and ARB's strut brace, lose the back seats (maybe) uprate the breaks, it will seem faster from these as the car will be more agile, and you can go round corners faster, so itll feel faster with out even touching the engine.

    although...

    4 Branch, Decat, Air filter are the real Basic ones.
