Unlocking 16v ECU

   Evening all,
   
   right, i need to know how you unlock the ecu, i know you have to unplug the transponder while the engine is running to unlock the ecu, but where is the transponder? is it under the fuse box in the eengine bay or under the ecu tray?

   iirc its under the passenger side of the dash behind the fuse box

   As mark says, black box about 100x80x15mm, clips to the back of the fuse box usually, or lurks thereabouts, has a dodgy releasable clip.
   
   to verify the ecu is unlocked, when you turn the engine off, ignition back on the immobiliser light will flash permanently but the engine will still start. give it a few trys, as there is a valet mode where it starts a few times without the immob but locks again, although this is rare, 2 times is enough usually.
