Removing of Rear Wiper

  1. #1
how long does this roughly take to do ? think its explained in the Max Power/Haynes manual but its at home & i'm stuck at work.

thinking of doing it for Trax but rapidly running out of time & money.

depends if the wiper arm is seized to the metal part of the motor mate

just wd40 it for a few hours, and then it shud b simple

    took me 20mins

    plug,washer and screw

    874542
    874543
    874544

These are the 3 part numbers that you need to take down to your local Peugeot dealer, as older, lower spec 106's, had no rear wiper. Therefore these bits were used to fill the hole

costs about £3 - and well worth it

so if i went in to them and asked for them parts thety will know what i mean???

sorry for the im aso thinking of doing this!
  4. #4
    they certainly will

they'll just type it in the computer and itl pop right up. although you may need to wait a few days for them to get the bits in to stock - as they arent exactly highly requested parts
  5. #5
think i may need to do this. halfrauds never have stock of the rear wiper, the wiper arm is a little rusty & i want to tidy up the rear end a little.

cheers for the info Joe - think this'll be

Graeme - not thread hijack mate. it was on the same subject
  6. #6
is it ok not to have a rear wiper?
  7. #7
yeh its fine alicia - legality and MOT wise anyway

in winter it gets to b a pain in the arse if u do a lot of reverse parking etc

so i suggest u get sum of this too:

    the rain just falls off

[edit] - sorry that ones german, but its commonly available in most shops like halfords etc
  8. #8
best not take it off then else ill b hittin things more than normal!
  9. #9
oi saxx - no copying my ideas bird !!
  10. #10
    oi hankage stop being mean!
  11. #11
it aint that easy when its seized tho

as i found out, ended up hacksawing the wiper arm off the motor

it was either that or risk puttin my window out

and the rubber plug cost me 50p
  12. #12
i bet your rubber plug can b pushed through quite easily tho??

the parts from peugeot r sturdy plastic and tightened from the inside and has no chance of getting pushed through or letting water in
  13. #13
i just dont push on it its still water tight though
  14. #14
go to peugeot and get it done properly. are you really going to take the chance of water leaking into your boot for the sake of £3?
  15. #15
i'll go for the proper ones if i get it done. for 3squid i ain't gonna go for sub-standard

what if someone else pushes on it?

and lets just talk hypothetically here for a moment...

what will you do if some little shit pushes it through, then proceeds to drop his fag-end in?and your car goes up in smoke...?

for another £2.50 - i wouldnt take the risk
  17. #17
i may do this on tue or wed when im off not sure i'll like it as i use the rear wiper loads.
  18. #18
aslong as u dont snap owt - its a simple job putting it back on dan mate

but seriously - get some rainX - does the job and lasts for ageees
  19. #19
im going to have a go at this tommorow i will take pic's aswell! (if Peugeot have the parts in)
  20. #20

  30. #30
dont think citroen stock them thats why we use the pug dealers for the parts.

will give it a go when i have some cash.

i also need to know this
  33. #33
they were made for early 106's that didnt have a rear wiper, but all saxo's had rear wipers i think so you probably wont get them from citroen.
  34. #34
    this is unfortunately true

im sure theres other items like this in places like halfords etc tho

    securable grommets that is..
