quickshift gearbox

   can anyone tell me how much i can get a reconditioned quickshift gearbox for vtr please??

   erm no such thing mate
   
   a quickshift can cost from 20 quid
   
   a short ratio box (well shorter final drive) can cost from 250ish to over like 4k depending on the spec of the internals

   do i have to tune the engine at all if i get a short ratio box or can i just fit it and go??

   The box would fit straight on as youre, only changing whats inside it.
   
   All the saxo, 106 and ax ones are the same i think.
   
   If its a day to day drive expect it to be less than enjoyable on the motorway with it revving away at 4k +

   as said it will go straight on
   best boxs are the xsi and rallye boxs off a 106
   s1 rallye shortest
   s2 little longer
   xsi still shorted than a saxo box
   
   makes a good difference
   had a guy with just breathing mods outrum my cammed vts on track cause hes got an xsi box
   
   i had 20 more bhp

   I'd agree with for road the xsi
   but also not said what use the car gets

   quickshift is the linkages/shifter
   
   gearbox will be anything from a rallye box up to quaife and upwards. 15k i believe you can spend on a top notch one
   
   i have a vts box and thats short enough for boost

   15k on a box??
   
   just over 3.5 will get you the full quaife dog set with an atb diff
   imo thats about the most youll need on any spec

    I know of people who have spend more than 15k on Gearboxes for a Rally Car lol.
    
    I picked my XSi box up for £110 posted and then had it rebuild for an extra £150!

    well i spose if your going sequencial or paddle actually it would cost a twat load
    i didnt really think before i typed
    spose 15k would be 1 hell of a box

    tbh for the use my car would get i couldnt warrent much more than 1500 quid on a box
    let alone 15k
