fifth injector setup.. a little hlep please

  1. #1
Im hoping to do a bit of testing here,

    current car is a 1997 1.1 spi.

i want to test a few different bits aswell as hopefully sort out a few weird bits in my standard map!

the question is about the setup, what exactly do i need for one?

ive done alot of work with engines before now but all have been running on dcoe's or dhla's.

    Thanks

Or even if anyone has any websites or links that could help me

you will need a 5th injector driver, the most common is mf2

why do you need a fifth injector on a 1.1?

5th are generally only used on cars running some sort of boost such as a turbo charger or super charger. A 5th injector will only be on a MPI engine you can use a similar setup on a SPI engine.

yeah, but i know its only the second, but i you knew what i meant.

I want one because i want to test a few more parts but as far as i know you cannot remap the original ecu.

I want to modify the head, but then i will need more fuel. easy when working with carbs, so i just want to know how to do it with injectors.

if you could calculate (ish) the proposed performance increase, could you just not up the fuel pressure or the injectors itself?

easiest way for spi to increase fuel pressure get a power boost valve and have it setup like that, spi only has a single injector built into the inlet tb housing anyway.

Other than that dip your plums in hot wax

I had thought about increasing fuel pressure, but the main reason for doing this is to learn about the electronics

if you wanna do that get a cheap saxo 1.1 mpi, make your own turbo kit get mf2 and sigcon and laugh your way to mad times
