just with a bmc, 4-2-1 and a de-cat. yea im quite happy really - my mates MI16 made 161BHP with 160ish Nm of Torque so im quite happy with the torque side of things. Just wanting cams and a remap now

EDIT : Also happy that there's no dip in the Torque line like there was with most cars there.

  9. #9
Not bad i got 131bhp at the fly with just powerflow cat back exhaust and a raceland air filter
  10. #10
isnt the standard atw power 100bhp?
  11. #11
Standard power ATW is around 90 bhp IIRC ...

Nice results from a relatively mildly modded VTS.

You mind if I ask where you had dyno run?

yea sure mate it was at street racers in leicester which were actually nominated 1 of the worse rollers in the country for reading too less.
but in the summer i got my car dyno'd on some dyno dynamics rollers and it come out at 121.7 HP with 110.3 FtLb. (with exactly the same mods as now)
But it was about the hottest day of the year aswell.

standard at the wheels should be around 100. Roughly 20% transmission losses

i knew i was right (for once lol)

nearly all the dyno grafts iv seen for vts/gti always loss about 30bhp through transmission
  17. #17
In that case Gearbox / Driveshafts or something is wrong. From that RR your engine is making good figures, but the power isnt getting onto the road!!
  18. #18
are you sure thats right josh? mine is only just 100bhp atw
i thought they were about 90 as standard aswell
  19. #19
hi, i dont want hijack or anything but i went to this rolling road too and my figures seemed spot on from what ive read. i have a mk 1 vtr with a induction full supersprint and raceland manifold and made 103.1bhp, 100 ftlb, and 75.5 bhp atw too.

oh and forgot too say im chris btw and im new to sax-p, well been a member for a couple months lol

id post a pic up of my graph but not sure how lol ill try and get it up soon

yes mate, having spoken to John he suggested somewhere between 17.5% - 20% it should be.

On mine with refurbed gearbox and new driveshafts it was near enough 17%

    Good stuff mate
  23. #23
how much it cost to get it on rollers mate?
  24. #24
How does Nm convert to lb/ft in torque?
  25. #25
If you want to know what gains you are getting of any modification you should always do a before and after as no VTS these days will get getting spot on 120bhp. The power will actually go up as the engine gets warn in and then drop off as its starts getting warn out. Its perfectly possible to have a completely standard car show 130bhp.

My engine had done only 15k when I bought it. It seems to be getting more powerful all the time. It's done 60k now. It's ran 708s since about 30k I think.
  27. #27
    good result there mate
  28. #28
You've gotta remember that 120bhp is just an average taken from an x amount of engines tested by pug.
