vtr engine

    i have been offered a cammed vtr engine for 250 it has kent pt51 cams and pullys and a piper manifold with a magnex system what bhp will i be looking at does any1 know just wondering if it will b worth the cash

    if its been mapped properly then in the region of 120bhp at a guess

    VTS untouched engine is 120bhp

    may be worth thinking about, especially if you want to gain more from the engine

    cammed VTS engine with breathing mods would be around 150+bhp

    i know was thinking that mate,

    cant realy have my car off the road for that long to do a conversion i can just chuck this motor in quickly

    quite fancy a vtr turbo in the future tho

    will be unique

    most people go for VTS transplants so it will be nice to see something different

    What year engine is it?
    Leeds106 on 106oc had the 98bhp one, cammed it, exhaust etc, and it made 124bhp without mapping, think that had a PT40 in too. Although all engines vary, for example, cant see mine making and extra 20bhp from just sticking a 266 degree cam in, to make the same power as that.

    PT51 is 16v.

    its a sliver top so 98 bhp standerd i will b happy keeping up with a standerd vts lol

    decided against it for the moment need to spend the cash on other areas first getting decent shocks new exhaust and things and save up for cams i think

    Erm, £200, same as they are new, I think.
    Im just happy knowing i've got the best zorst for the car and that it aint gonna fall off the hangers like the new ones are supposed to lol.

    You would be better off dropen in vts engine bud!! then going for camms and re map....ect.....
