Important! : HID Kit Issue with Fog Lamps

  1. #1
I've just finished smoking my Fog Lamps and I bought a cheap H1 HID kit for my fog lamps.

Now. The issue is with the standard bulbs they fit into housing which the cable feeds into. This housing then screws into the foglamp.

However, the HID bulb's require the wires to be connected so the original bulb housing is not required.

So, what I want to know is what is the best solution to hold the bulb firmly into the lamp. Right now if I leave it, it's dangling. Any ideas would be appreciated as I can't think of many solutions.

OK, i think i have got what your saying but im a little confused so sorry if this reply is all wrong lol

If the HID bulb does not need the bulb houseing, and im presuming here you meen the plug thing which the bulb fixes into.... anywho, if the hid dont need it, cant you open it up some how and feed the wires through the housing to attach to the bulb and then still use the housing.....

If that cant be done well im not sure, custom make somthing? lol

    Same problem here.....
The original foglight is placed in a back plate which screws into position and is therefore held securely in place.....

If you fit HID's you can not fit the new HID bulb in the place of the original bulb...
My thoughts on this are to-

    1) obtain a foglight bulb holder (original) and see if I can modiofy this with a dremmel to hold the new HID bulb in position (seems a LONG shot).

    2) Bin the idea and keep hold of the H1 kit fro use in another car at a later date....

If anyone else has any ideas or has solved this would much appreciate a PM detailing the solution.

    cheers!!
