#2mate dont go near spacer! i had some on my saxo to fit some wheels an today goin round a corner the bolts sheared off due the weight bein more on the end of the hub. if you do use some the smaller the better. jus though id share this with youlol
-
#3thanks for the warning mate. were they hub centric spacers os just normal spacers? i no alot of people get alot of wobble with regular spacers and other problems etc?
-
#4well did u get longer bolts as well? cos clearly if u used spacers with the standard bolts your gunna have issues lol.
also dont buy the real shitty cheap ebay spacers, they are dog, spend the money get some proper hubcentrics. Also you can get hold of "wobbly" bolts i thnk they are called -
#5cheers mate. do you no how big of a spacer u can use with standard vts wheels?
-
#6there 20mm i think!!! if its low it will rub defo!!!
-
#7i had hub centric ones and longer bolts, was a proper kit ffrom halfrauds, jus so you cud picture it heres a picture lol
-
#8how much did you pay for the proper kit mate?
-
#9£50 mate.
-
#10that doesnt sound sound right tbh mate. some of my mates work in lk performance which is a specialist wheel and tyre place and they said its about 40-50 quid for two hubcentric spacers in correct fitment with longer wheel bolts.
-
#11well im not lyin lol thts how much they cost me, wish i knew i could of spent more an they probs wudnt of snapped lol#
-
#12i dint mean it to sound like i was making you out to be a lier mate sorry. i was mentioning what i got quoted coz i think halfords might av scammed you mate. have you been back and complained to them? surely they are to blame in some way for the damage to your car?
-
#13they arent hubcentric would be why they were cheap
hubcentrics use 2 sets of short bolts not a set of longer bolts
the longer bolts are under a lot more stress hence what happened to you mate -
#14does anyone have any pics of saxos with spacers and vts alloys?
-
#16I'm running 20 & 25mm hubcentric spacers with VTS wheels. Proper H&R Trak spacers from www.rimstyle.com (iirc), cost me £185 for all four delivered.
Spacer fitted:
Spacer bolts to hub. Wheel bolts to spacer.

After:

Hows that?1 user thanked this post: -

#18cheers guys. im def getting some now! the white vts looks amazing mate nice work!
-
#19btw how low are both your cars cheers?
-
#20Cheers fella. If you need any further advice, just ask me. But remember you pay for quality alot of the time when adding aftermarket mods!
Me? Bout 50/60mm I think, I brought it lowered -
#21cheers mate. i am worried that the back wheels will rub coz mine is lowered 60-90. u reckon i will have any complications? i was going to go for 15mm hubs all round?
-
#22Mine caught with a full load with 25mm spacers on the back. Put the 20's on the back and no problems since - you'll should be ok mate. Rubs on full lock but has always done so with it being lowered.
Not sure if rimstyle.com does 15mm tbh...? But the ones ive got are the 'safe' version of spacers. I've got 2 sets of the universal tat that came with a set of OZ super t's, even with longer bolts i'd never drive about with them on...too dodgy! -
#23would you recommend 20mm hubcentrics all round then mate?
-
#24Yeah I would if I was you, and only if the spacer bolts to the hub, then the wheel to the spacer.
-
#25Yeah I would if I was you, and only if the spacer bolts to the hub, then the wheel to the spacer.
-
#26right mate thak you for help! moch appriciated!
-
#27I agree hubcentric's are alot safer but as for the price mine wasnt near that price but mine look exactly the same.As for how low it is id guess 50/60 but was like it when i got the car..
-
#28how much did you pay mate? im having some trouble finding some on rimstyle. they only seen to have universal ones which i dont want.1 user thanked this post:

#29Just been reading through this post. Ive got to say dannyhall, that is a tasty saxo. I would be right in assuming spacers will add some stability round the bends yes?
-
#30As somebody's relighted an old thread, I have a few questions to.
Would you have absolute confidence in these during hard driving i.e. a trackday? I'm obviously talking about the proper hubcentric ones, something like these:
http://www.superforma.co.uk/wheel-sp....html?___SID=U
Do they improve handling? I suppose they widen the track so should give more stability during cornering?
Any effect on steering? Cheers -
#31i've never had any issue's with hard driving/spacers, apart from some rubbing.
on standards wheels, i had 35mm rears and 25mm on the front, no track day but hard road. never had any problems,
got c5 'steels' now, no spacers on the front but 25mm on the back, done a lot of hard driving and a couple of track days, also have 21mm torsion bars, 24mm arb, so oversteers abit, and grippy rubber, and no ill effects for me.
i'd only personally use the h&r/eibach ones though, get a pair of those in the yours hands, and a pair of ebay ones, and you'll soon see the price difference. much much better
