diesel gearbox on vts

  1. #1
My mates just bought a vts. But it seemed sluggish on the bottom end. There was no pull until about 4500rpm. Just checked the gearbox code and its got a 1.5 diesel box on

Would this make it slow on bottom end of rev range?

The gearbox won't effect the delivery of power in a specific RPM range, it will effect the entire RPM range. The diesel box is probably one of the worst boxes you can fit to the VTS, as its ratios and final drive are miles away from what you want ideally. I'd be taking it back to where I bought it from rather sharpish.

It is slow. My VTS nails it. Some plank put the diesel gearbox on before he bought it

HaHa, i would personally take it back unless the seller clearly said it would be sold with a tractor gearbox.
