   proper sound deadening is very heavy for what it is which just takes the idea out of weight saving. easiest thing to do is to get the floor acoustic carpeted profesionaly onto the metal, it will look good, keep SOME of the sound away and not weigh the world

   dynamat its one of the best i've used, cheaper stuff called brown bread aswell, and the best stuff ive used is stinger acoustic spray foam but its the most expensive and its been afew years since i was into my car audio so dont know whats out there now

   defeats the point taking bits out and then sound deadening
   
   are you going full or half cage?
   
   if your just doing it for the look and not going to use it on track then imo its a waste of money
