Fao Alexr and other suspension nerds: standard Saxo spring rates?

  1. #1
sup gang. Just wondering if anyone knew the standard spring rates for the Saxo range including athe equivalent spring rate for the torsion bar too?

Also the weight distribution (f/r%) of a Saxo?

    Thanks

i also want to know spring rates of koni, what spring rates the shocks would handle.
And also what torsion bar size would match

From what i remeber from working on a saxo team it was 125lb for springs and citroen quoted 62% wieght on the front end for a full interiored vtr!

125lb sounds high for standard springs, more like 100lb!

106 GTi ones tested at 120lb/in apparently.
Eibach pros tested at 115lb/in linear.

From measuring there were a few different springs used on saxos, it appears it correlates with 15" wheels on vts. Somewhere in the region of 110-130lb/in. I have some if you wanna test one

Wheel rate of that would be around 90-100lb/in iirc.

Wheel rate of 19mm torsion bars, according to sandy is 110lb/inch.

I haven't looked into any of my graphs and calculations etc for this as i'm on a temp pc, so it's all from memory, so may be incorrect.

Weight dist is about 65/35 standard.

Well i have 1999 mk2 vts springs in my shed, get ryanal to pass them on, collect them or whatever you wanna do They do feel better than eibachs so i'd be suprised if they were softer than 120lb.

Don't really come on here much, only noticed the thread as it was showing on the main forum page with my name in the title lol

I wish the manufacturers would put this kinda info up with the springs & shocks tbh. Would take the guess work out of trying to match adjustable shocks to springs n stuff
