IM NEW AND NEED SUM GUIDENCE...

IM NOT A RETARD I SWEAR!!!

basicaly i just got a vtr, iv gone down the moding route b4 in my old cars but only ever styling realy...

i want a fast (n i mean fast) vtr lol

iv been asking around about whats best to do to gain bhp and nearly every1 iv spoken 2 has said i need a new head...

now hears the problem... im not a retard but what exactly is a "head" and y do i need a new1?

any other ideas on whats next? (iv got my own ideas but what do you think?)

well the head is the top part of the engne it houses the valves and cam and is resposible for putting the air and fuel into the cylenders ans letting the exhaust gasses out

a new head may not be nessecary but reworking your head (porting or gas flowing) will allow them in of out smoother and faster which will show gains in performance
however really you will want other things like a higher cam in there and you will be best looking into exhaust manifolds and systems and beter induction to feed the head with the air faster and allow the exhaust gasses to exit the head freely

riiiiiiiiiiiiiite lol now i understand a lil better lol
iv got a few plans on the go but if i were intrested in a new head/ getting mine "reworked" whos sells them / reworks them and how much am i looking?

gmc do i quite well as do companies like longmans ect
they could probably supply a head thats been reworked for a few hundred quid

not really looking into it myself to know proper prices though
