What Bhp would i get?

At a rough guess what bhp would i get with 708 cams and kms thottle bodies with a very good re-map on stand alone mangement?

And what difference would 808 cams and pocketed pistons make?

    btw in a vts

dont think you'll pass emission with 808s.....

    Hi,

on the 708's you've got to be thinking about the high 160's, maybe early 170's, but you've got to watch the injectors, they're probably at their limit at that point.

You'd want a 4-1 or 4-2-1 manifold and proper exhaust (supersprint?) to go with it.

If you go the harder cam, and pistons, you'll want some headwork to go with it and you'll be over 180bhp and needing those injectors.

Don't forget about the clutch at that power...

If you're 1-plug, my Predator ECU is on group-buy at the moment (see Datashift Affiliate Section), £550 fitted and mapped and it'll easily support TB's

    Kind regards

I've got a 4-2-1 manifold and looking at piper exhaust's dont the kms thottle bodies come with updrated injectors. i think my vts has 3 plugs

808s you will need to factor the price of solid lifters to.

for example this spec made 184bhp when built.
    TU5J4 1.6 16v
Emerald M3D ECU with shed motorsport adapter loom
    Polished and balanced crankshaft
    New bearings all round
    Rebore
    Steel H section conrods
    ARP rod bolts
    High compression kit car pistons
    Enlarged inlet and exhaust valves
Head ported to suit bigger valves and match inlet & exhaust systems
    Solid camshaft followers
    Double Stronger Valve springs
    Catcams 803 cams
    Maxi(S1600) exhaust header
    2.5" stainless exhaust system
Maxi individual direct to head throttle bodies
    Long polished trumpets
    Larger pico injectors
    Lightened and balanced flywheel
    VTS fuel system setup

JPsaxo runs 708s and forigies for about 165-170

so would it be best just to stick with the 708's, tb's and standalone mangement. THan with a 1.4 xsi box lightened flywheel good clutch?

going up that final 10-15 bhp can be awfully costly... the 708's, TB's and management, will be a good bang-for-buck way to go!

i'll think i'll go that way then its only to beat my mate in his 150bhp corsa

no its not, find a corner then hes fucked

as above 708s are a more economical option unless you want to spunk 4-5k

nos if you want to do it cheaply.

    haha ryan nos ftw

got 708s n bodies then maybe get the head just flowed a little with a standalone and you should be happily over 160

iirc ryan josh is 141@wheels which is just over 170 at fly (20% transmission loss)
also i think josh still uses a pretty basic clutch

but anything like 808s and youll need quite deep pockets as im finding (im looking at ph5 newmans--silimar to 814s i think) gotta swap quite a lot of stuff to get the most from them

im still on a valeo and i belive is josh, nout wrong with them tbh

How much is it get the kit what takes your VTS upto 165 - 170bhp? from standard,

And how much does it cost too have it all fitted?,

    Cams £225
    4-2-1 £150
    supersprint exhaust £200?
    Management £550
    Cold Air intake system £150

£1300 + fitting, I guess £1600 or so, this should see you to 150-155.

to go up the next 10bhp would cost throttle bodies, which are around another £1000!

Rough guide there, but should be a reasonable ball-park
