So the setup is this, my gfs car has early saxo vts struts and a 1.0 5speed ax gearbox.
Previously it had a 1.4 xsi gearbox in.
Im assuming that the 1.4xsi was a "sports" box meaning it took the shorter input shaft style of driveshaft.
So i fitted the 1.0 box which im assuming is a non sport box so should have the longer input shaft style of driveshaft.
I didnt think anything of it at the time. But i assumed that because the 1.4xsi gearbox worked fine the shafts fitted to the car were both sports ones or they would have been too long to go in.
Not the case, ive ordered a new shaft for the N/S and the input shaft looked shorter than the one i removed so now im properly confused.
My question - have people used the sport driveshafts with the shorter input shaft to go into a non sport cluster gearbox??
