hello i have a question about a ford fiesta...

my mate has a 57 plate zetec and he want to get more put of it by re-mapping it, how would you go about this ect and what gain would come of it.. its the 1.25 btw...

also i am not a member of any other forums and i thought someone might be helpful enough to answer my querie!

remap imo is only worth the money if alot has been done to warrant one.

espec at the cost of mapping.

ford engines seem to work well with the superchips bluefin iirc.

well i said to him you need to do something to warrant it but then i thought of a guy i know with a completely standard grande punto, been remapped and its soo much quicker, even standard...

whats superchips and how do they work? (sorry)

fiestas 1.25, 1.3, 1.4 and 1.6 ecu cant be remapped ive heard + simply not worth the money on a 1.25

    oh dear oh dear.

Why didn't he go for a zetec s or something quicker in the first place.

useless doing up a 1.25 when the brakes and suspension are standard

dump the 1.25 and get a 1.6 zetec s or 1.7 puma engine in there
    forget about tuning the 1.25

its realy not worth doing anything to the 1.25...if its a mk6 he wants to look at a st conversion but it depends on how committed he is to the car tbh

he'd be best off to sell it for a zs.

if not get him to sign up on ukfiestanetwork.com and im sure someone can tell him where to go to have it done

didnt realise it was a mk6 bud, definitely st150 conversion is the way
but then they arent that fast, my vts downs them all day long

If they have a bluefin that works with it then he could see small gains from that. Personally i wouldn't say a re-map would be worth the money. It would give minimal gains and up his insurance considerably.

He should just focus on the styling of the car if he can't afford to buy a bigger engine car. All show and no go isn't always bad.
