gearbox noise

   on my vts there is a sort of whinning noise but if i press the cluch in it goes away anybody got any ideas ,and if it will be expensive

   it sounds like ur release bearing mate !! mines the same im fitting a new clutch in mine hoping that will cure it finally BTW citroen wanted £110+vat for a clutch kit!!!<img src= "smileys/smiley1.gif">

   Normally when the release bearing has gone, you hear a rattle... whic goes when you press the clutch in.
