Upgrading 1.1 brakes

   The only thing that concerns me with my car is how bad the breaks are is there anyway of upgrading to disks and how much will it cost

   hi mate, with yours being a phase/mark 2, is it a 4 studder?
   
   when you say you want to upgrade to discs, i am guessing you mean the rear? drums will be fine on the rear of a 1.1 mate, most of the braking is done on the front of a vehicle.
   if your concerned about the brake set up on your car, consider a VT brake upgrade if it is a 4 studder. you will prob find someone on here who like me has done a 306 GTi-6 brake upgrade to a VT car, and will have their old brake set up spare and forsale? (mine is going on the Kte's car eventually).

   basic brake upgrade is easy mate
   
   looks like your running vtr rims
   biggest brakes you can fit under them are 266mm (usually found on a 206gti)
   
   but the 1.1 runs a tiny m/c (19mm) so a bigger one is really needed to get the bigger brakes running with good pedal feel
   
   i had vtr fronts on my 1.1 and the did the job nicely though

   you can have my vtr front discs+pads and callippers for 35 quid if you want mate very good condition
