smooth bonnet

   this might sound like a stupid question but if u smooth your bonnet how do u open it because it covers up the little lever thingy lol

   i wouldn't bother unless you like your car overheating all the time.
   
   lots of people have bonnet pins or i'm guessing they will just remove the whole catch idea so when you pop the bonnet you can just lift it up

   Well think about it
   
   1. Where is the standard air feed to the air filter? at the slam panel, by covering it up where is the air going to flow to.
   
   therefore you will be sucking in hot air.
   
   2. To keep the engine cool, air flows through the grille and lower bumper, through the engine bay and out just in front of the windscreen
   
   by blocking the front grille up, the air won't flow as well, meaning the engine will heat up quicker, and in summer especially, will struggle to cool down, meaing the fan will constantly be on
   
   3. Smoothed over bonnets look shite

   i think they look good theres a vtr in preformance french car the same colour as mine with a smooth bonnet and that looks well nice. ive only got a 1.1 so i just wanna euro it because then it doesnt matter about the weight becuase its slow anyway lol

    Mot fail if you remove the catch as I found out.
    
    As for overheating, if I smoothed my bonnet over I think it would set on fire as my engine runs very hot. On 1.1etc I wouldnt think you would have a problem.

    Mine was been an arse tbf. the catch want cut off, there was just summat in the way stopping it from catching.

    do you have to put bonnet pins on because ive seen them it with out and i just think it looks better because its all smooth

    no need for bonnet pins(look gash), you can put a block on the catch so its closer but you can still reach to get to get the bonnet up

    and u have to shove a stick between the headlight and bonnet to release the catch how annoying!
