If you have pressed plates with the same size/style font as normail number plates without the D or F badge then they are legal.

    Otherwise illegal.

The only place you can get legal Pressed plates is Dubmeister or one of the companies that are associated with them,
It doesn't matter if you order than for ebay or something and say you don't want the F band and what not they aren't BSAU14d compliant

Wrong... pressed plates aren't as reflective as standard plates so therefore are illegal!

On that note, a copper parked opposite me in tesco last night and didn't bat an eyelid at my platesso she must have been stupid

It's been covered loads before, links from sites etc saying that they are illegal. Think it was from DVLA so more reliable than 1 person.

They are also illegal if they don't have the company name and address on of who made them and since pressed plates are only made as show plates you won't get that.

They are illegal. You can however use them for show use and some people do risk using them on the road and get away with it, not that I would condone the use of illegal plates

ok for show use imo,but got done for havin saxo behind me numbers on me no plate, that
    was illegal me thinks.

since the 1st of november apparantly is is now even illegal to make show plates according to dubmeister. i tried buying some last week and they said that they can no longer make em due to the law change. apparantly the government and billy 5-0 are having a massive crackdown on dodgey number plates now.
