I have done it mate. quite easy really. best thing to do is get a touch screen monitor. that will sort you out with everything you need. have it on the dash so you can have sat nav on it etc.
Check out MP3car.com and frodopalyer.com. frodoplayer is some incar pc software. my incar pc is on my aviator. well worth the effort!!!!
let me know if you need to know anything.

hey scottie how much did your set up cost

well i had a laptop already so discounting that twas only about 200-250. most of that was on the monitor. £160 off ebay. then you need to plum it into your head unit. i had to use an FM modulator cos an aux adapter is for my head unit was mega expensive. then just power converter and cables. mines in the boot under a false floor. rigged a power switch from my dash. only reason my monitor isn't built in is cos i can't do fiberglass etc.

right, sounds like a d-cent set up, i was think bout getting monitor on dash and storing my laptopn under passenger seat, in protective case.

that would do it. originally i wasn't using a laptop. i was going to make my own case. that why i put it in the boot. altho power converters can be quite bulky. and might be an effort to get it all to fit.
