Underlay Under Carpet

   Hiya There,
   
   What else could i use as underlay or where could i get the saxo under lay from all the under lay in scrap yards is soaked wet through, and what is it there for?... need get some or somthing what will do the same job before can start putting all my car back together properly inside...

   i was wondering this for my boot when it went all mouldy, i jus put regular carpet underlay i had lying around the loft. Its there to muffle road noise, dnt think it makes much of a difference. too dampen the noise even more from my loud backbox i put a layer of sound deadening and and layer of fibreglass loft insulation lol

   i know it sounds a bit YEEEEEHHHHAAWWWWWW but i think loft insulation would be ideal as long as it's not the thick stuff, or sound deadening but this may get a bit expensive?
