Did it today ... chopped up my old front numberplate mount from my old mx5 and bolted it onto the bottom of the bumper, will post pics later.

Also welded metal plates behind the holes from the saxo and citroen badges - filled and sanded.

Not done the number plate recess yet, started cutting a metal plate ... then got too cold!!! lol

    No worries mate.

Does anyone know if the number plate bolts you get with lights in them would be legal ... would make the whole job alot neater.

I'm still cutting a metal plate for the gap ... does anyone know if these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CITROEN-SAXO-F...1%7C240%3A1318 are any good? or am I just better getting the mig out??

p.s. that is the fugliest saxo I have ever seen!!
  14. #14
no they will crack mate if you wanna get it done propperly weld in a plate and start from there

as i found out when i bought what was claimed to be a professionally welded in after a week and it wasnt even fitted to the car i had cracked nearly all the war round in the shape of the recess that used to be there it was just a solid lump of fibre glass

  15. #15
Omg thats a hell of a lot of fibreglass ...

Ive got the metal plate ready to go in ... just a bit worried about heat - - - - warp lol
  16. #16
ye the boot skins usualy crack or sag over time, will be more reliable and cheaper in the long run to weld, and ye never seen a saxo as disgusting as that in the ebay link lol

best to get piece of metal welded in mate will last so much longer, ive got the number plate bolt lights in mine, and just covered half with black tape so the un covered part shone on the number plate
