Good luck to you if the "guy" you have took it to lowers it by "clicks" lol

all the guys i went to said clicks ! one click = 40mm
  4. #4
If you want it done the DANGEROUS way then fine. GET IT DONE PROPERLY!

1 click may make it 40mm or woteva, but doing it by clicks is the cheap, easy and noob way to do it, and is basically just not the right way to do it.

There is a right way and a bodge way to everything, you have went down the "bodge" route.

Get intouch with Manic Motors on here, they done mine and tookt he WHOLE torsion bar apart to adjust it properly, that way if you want to be very precise you could have it 42mm at the back if you really wanted.

Liek i said there is a right and wrong way, and you aint gettin it done right, basically...

I've seen a pst on another forum where a lad had lowered the rear of his car by the dreaded "clicks" method to around -80mm... Shortly after he wrote his car (and himself) off as the torsion bar snapped under the strain of being twisted at motorway speeds...

What you're looking at is just as bad as lopping coils off your springs to lower the front which is just as, if not more, stupid.

does anyone no if 4extreme in essex do it by clicks or not?
  9. #9
I'm 99% sure they do it properly (ie removing the torsion bars, raising the trailing arms to whatever level and then re-fitting the bars)

im goin garage hunting for gettin the car lowered after xmas, soooo glad i read this lol

Dont do it by clicks just buy some axel stands and if your mechanicly minded you will be able to do it by reading the guide on here http://www.saxperience.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=108157
This is the most detaild by far and even people who dont have a clue how to lower a car would get the idea of it from this guide or pay that bit extra and go to a real garage

When people say 'getting the torsion bar lowered to match' or 'doing it on the torsion bar' is that clicks or proper way??
  13. #13
can be taken either way tbh... Before you take your car in for lowering, ask them which how they lower the rear, if they mention it by clicks then just walk away. If they mention that they take the bars out, adjust and refit then you're at the right place

But saying that, the guide is well done enough that you can easily follow it yourself

hmm. Thanks for that mate, I'll make sure I ask when I get it done

has anyone read the max power haynes manual on how to lower the torsion bar? is that the corrent way?
  16. #16
i click is either around 30mm or 50mm depending on which end of the t bars you use. But dont be surprised if he fucks up your traling arm bearings mate
  17. #17
All my Saxo's to knowledge have been done by clicks..Never had a problem..
  18. #18
4xtreme in essex did my torsion bar by 40mm and they did it the proper way as far as i know anyway but ive not had any probs with it.
  19. #19
most places use clicks to lower them

it does put excess stress on the bearings but can last quite a while sometimes

as said its either 30 or 50 a click but to do it properly is best
