Handling and alloys

Think this is probably the right section for this, basically Ive got VTR alloys at the moment and the plan was to get some 15's either leggies or TD 1.2s. But one of the tyres needs replacing on the VTRs.

So Ive been thinking would it make more sense to get decent tyres all round for the VTR alloys, or with the increase to the 195 width and also the option of 283mm brakes be actually worth paying the extra for. If I just get the tyres, which will probably be Yoko S Drives, Ill be able to upgrade the brakes much sooner than if I bought 15's, only just to 266's. Are the 283's really that much better?

    Cheers

The increase in tyre width wont really be noticeable imo..As for the brakes, 266's are perfectly fine, remember it is only a standard 1.4 Ben..No need for massive brakes!

Keep VTR wheels, get some 266's if you have to, although my std VTR brakes are really good and wouldnt want to change them tbh..Spend the money elsewhere, get some proper suspension or a cage..

decent tyres will give more difference than shit 195s
the width doesnt make much difference its more to do with the compound and tread pattern (for dispersing the enevitale british moisture)

id say as above realls some 266s under the vtr rims n good tyres n you will be happy
