Just say you do it, spend £4000 doing it and you see 160bhp, great, fun little car.

Now say you start with a 16v, spend £4000 and end up with 180bhp.. I know which i would rather do

id say throttly body your 8v
nobody des it much and it would be sweet

as for the guys on about vts conversions yea its a god plan but imo its easier to work on the engine in the car

tons of 8vs on bike bodies on 106 forums.

    None produce massive power..

although NA massive power on TUs isnt easy full stop

if you have a bit of mechnical knowledge it will not cost £4000 to bodie it, a set of tb's from a cbr 600 including custom manifold to fit an 8v head, ram air filters injectors and a dasek chip mapped for a vtr on bodies just sold on fleabay for £185 it doesnt take much knowlege to fit the only thing that will majorly cost is the amount of pizza and coffee you will need when fitting it

£4000 is very pricey, but, that will be for Jenvey ITB's which are proper throttle bodies. Bike ones work just aswell but will be a little bit more hassle. For a bike tb'd setup i'd set aside £100 for the tb's, £150 max for manifold from Bogg Brothers, £50 for silicone couplers, unless you bolt them on. Then ideally you would run standalone management like my old MX5 which was on Megasquirt. Management systems that I know work well with Pug/Citroens' are Megasquirt and Omex. Good systems DON'T come cheap, you really do get what you pay for. My moto is 'Buy cheap, buy twice!' Then you'll need it mapping for your setup, again doesnt come cheap and you really need to find a reputable company who have good experience with the management system you chose. I'd budget around £1500-2000 for a 'd.i.y' setup

Also meant to mention, you'll need to sort linkages, tps etc etc. You'll need to set up a cold start function too.

Thanks for that matt. Defo takin all that into account and gettin it all noted down for the future. i got a progress thread goin on mine and so far iv had to buy a new gearbox, clutch, wishbone, hb cables so its been a bit of hassle with money. But once i got a new job (soon i hope) and the money stream begins to flow nice and steady then my D.I.Y shal begin. Thanks again!!!

Once you have enought posts to get into the for sale section just keep an eye in the saxo parts forum, there's always people braking cars and just see if you can get their rear axle's .
