Exhaust Advice

looking at getting new system for my 2002 VTR

what are the advantages and disadvantages of getting rid of the silencer (ie mid box)

looking at the cituning pipe they sell -

£85 then looking at a backbox 2nd hand if i can find one

it might make it a bit louder that could be a advantage/disadvantage

think thats about it not sure about performance think that depends what else has been done to the engine

As for engine at mo just induction kit really. just want induction and exhaust system for few extra BHP and a nice sound. not planning on strapping turbos an stuff.

possibly get it chipped but thats doubtfull ill get that done

wouldnt be less restrictive.

it really depends what you want from the exhaust. if sounds all you want then powerflow or another custom exhaust company would be best. if you want power then go for something like magnex, scorpion etc.

mine fell off about 8 + times one i had hehe

Want power and a nice sound ie not stupidly loud as if an skyline is coming down the street!

was thinking of this mid pipe and then a backbox to match but if this pipe dont make any diff then id be better off with just a backbox really

got a cituning V6 style exhaust lined up possibly ya see so just after mid box at mo unless deal falls through

my mates got a pipe like this on his with a magnex backbox its quite loud when ideling sounds nice when moving aswell
like dan said if you just want sound go to a custom place

there is some good custom exhaust places about just might have to travel a bit
or you could build your own like you said

Yeah piper might be an option found a twin one for sale and i did like it on my nova

might be investing in this though soon not sure yet...

well im actually thinking of buying tht bumper to go with it too while ime there as its ppretty subtle so would go well.

nah not heard it. its a proper cituning one so ill get the stainless mid pipe with no silencer i first posted to go with it the month after and it should sound nice. its not fitted at the mo so wont be able to hear it

nah just the back bumper with that exhaust would be ideal. ran outta cash so gotta wait 2 weeks for pay day an hope its not sold.

i got the abarth style side skirts to fit aswell to add some depth to the side to match the bumper IF i got it

you will need some kind of front bumper or it wouldnt look right well thats my opinion

yeah im looking at a subtle splitter for the front. i like the esp front one so might invest in that or the R&A 2 bumper in future.

but i do have a silver one with a big mouth cut out. gotta get that sprayed up an splitter fitted should set it up niceley

got the money for the rear bumper and exhaust so ordering 2nite so should get within the week.

gonna fit the exhaust to a standard bumper for now see what it looks like then fit the kitted bumper at later date

ive got a magnex stainless system from abp motorsport with a 3.5" tailpipe, the system only has the box on the tailpipe and sounds nice but not too loud, just a lovely burble

even better when i have my de-cat fitted. its really good when its hot and your backing off the throttle

defo a good system to get

Yeah i was tempted for the magnex as they do look lush as well dunno what it is bu they look well fitted to the sax.

yeah ill ave pics soon hessle i need to measure it up once it arrives and see if it will fit my vtr bumper and use that until i spray it up

as i know i want two tone but that silver is too bright

hopefully ill let you know what it looks like soon but still no delivery. was meant to ave it last week then changed to tue this week nothing has arrived yet so hoping for 2morra as i wanna fit it for weekend
