#2On my old one there was 3 tiny torx screws under the knob, but it was an aftermarket one.
I thaught the standard ones just pull off but are really hard to get off? -
#3to get the standard gear knob off you have to put the car into 4th gear with the engine off and pull hard
-
#4ye , if u have a mk1 1.1 im guessing u have the rubber gaiter, if u cant unclip it off just hack it off with ur mate stanley.
as for the gear knob, put in 4th, get one leg over so ur bums near the back seat and give an almighty tug. watch your head as it comes of fast -
#7Mine Doesn't. My 1.1 has a Black Gear Knob and Leather Gaiter.

#9so for a mark 1 1.1 just put it into 4th and pull??

#10well for any model really, just the best position i can think of for optimum pull lol as they can be quite hard to get off sometimes. failing this some people hack it off with a stanley
and god knows why they did a yellow gear knob, some saxos even have yellow doorpins and multicoloured seatbelts lol -
#11then its just a case of screwing another knob on?Quote:well for any model really, just the best position i can think of for optimum pull lol as they can be quite hard to get off sometimes. failing this some people hack it off with a stanley

#12hmm not so much screwing as i dnt think saxo gear sticks have a thread on them. gear knobs from other saxos/106's tend to slip right on , mite be a bit loose so wrapping the top of the stick in gaffa tape usually packs it tight and does the trick. aftermarket knobs like momo etc go on with grub screws but not too sure about aftermarkets as never fitted them
-
#13ignore the screwing on bit lol. the top of the knob screws off an i got a bit confused lolQuote:hmm not so much screwing as i dnt think saxo gear sticks have a thread on them. gear knobs from other saxos/106's tend to slip right on , mite be a bit loose so wrapping the top of the stick in gaffa tape usually packs it tight and does the trick. aftermarket knobs like momo etc go on with grub screws but not too sure about aftermarkets as never fitted them

#14try get hold of the haynes maual mate, gives u a pic guide of removing an fitting a new one

#15i cut mine off with a stanley n it worked a treat! gettin the new one on proved less easy put the new knob on it spun round in circles! lack of common sense i think think ill try packin it with tape as suggested above!Quote:hmm not so much screwing as i dnt think saxo gear sticks have a thread on them. gear knobs from other saxos/106's tend to slip right on , mite be a bit loose so wrapping the top of the stick in gaffa tape usually packs it tight and does the trick. aftermarket knobs like momo etc go on with grub screws but not too sure about aftermarkets as never fitted them
