induction kit help

i have a 1.1 simular to this engine.

firstly is this mpi or spi as i am unsure

stole from another thread ignore the ovals

secondly i want an induction kit and wanted to keep the egr so would i be able to shuv it on the end of the egr and leave cold air feed then remove the filter element out of the standerd air box or would this make no diff??

as far as I know there is no egr on the single points mate.

The hose off the top of the exhaust manifold is for hot air from the exhaust for cold starts I think it's for iirc.

Have a look at folks progress threads for how they have run their induction kits. But the main restriction on the system is the obvious blue oval in the pic that's the narrow part of the piping. But being single point the bit that connects to the throttle body is different to multi point injection cars.

    i have a 1.1i saxo

the same as in the pic

i lost the pipe that comes off the heat manifold. the cover had rusted where it bolts to the manifold. i have ran the car with no probs. the only thing is u have to let it warm up first before driving. also the heater isn't as effective due to the heat not being pumped back to the engine.

the ecu i think changes the fuel ratio slightly but im not sure ???!!

The heater isn't effected by removing the piping from the exhaust, it takes it's heat from the coolant flowing through the heater matrix in the dash.

iirc = if I remember correctly

yes it takes it from coolant but the engine will get hoter quicker with the pipe so ya both ryt lol
