De-wipering...where to saw??

  1. #1
When dewipering people say saw it off.
Where abouts do you saw. Line 1 or line 2 in the picture below.
Also I cant get the nut off holding down the blade. Is that a problem??

  2. #2
1 is my guess. With a gromit over the top?

Keep the whiper on.. Clean look IMO!
  3. #3
the nut is what is holding the arm on, have you put penetrating oil in it to try and free it up>

if not just cut where the thread is visable in the pic, just dont mash the glass
  4. #4
    line number 1
then remove all the motor inside and jobs a goodun

the nuts usually come off with some penetrating fluid
then use some grips to pop the wiper off the splines
  5. #5
Leave it on.. at least until the winter is over
  6. #6
    dont need it though

heated rear screen is the way forward
  7. #7
Na, not tried any oil yet. And tbh if the nut doesnt come off the wiper blade probs wont, and I don't have a puller and cba to buy one (then take it back) so will probs just saw it.
Only thing is, if I decide to put it back on wont it be buggered if the thread has been cut in half?
  8. #8
Yeh I never use it anyways as my blade is absolute pants, and cos I planned to de-wiper I've never bought a new one.
Tbh if I had a good blade I would probs keep the wiper as I would use it, but as I dont know what its like to have a working one im used to not using it.
  9. #9
you dont need to saw anything! just undo the nut then i was tappin the thread with a hammer while pullin the wiper arm with some pliers. then the motor fell out when i took the nuts off the motor.
  10. #10
if its cut yes the motor is fucked you will need a new one.

    penetrating oil is your friend.

saxo rear wipers are shit anyway lol
  11. #11
Where can you get and how much is penetrating oil?
  12. #12

LOL. I so cant afford £5. I find with modding cars apart from the big expensive costs, you spend so much on buying tonnes of little things!! AHH!
  14. #14
with maintaining any car properly you need decent tools, oils and lubricants, copper grease etc...

cars are not cheap if you want to maintain them properly.
  15. #15
    Hhmmm. I agree
  16. #16
just undo the nut turn the wiper until you hear a cracking sound then pull that off then undo the little black thing that holds it tight 2 the window undo all the bolts for the motor and remove then use the bung from the boot as this sits flush with the window and fits perfect and jobs a good un thats what i did on mine any way took about 5 mins in mcdonalds car park lol
  17. #17
Where abouts is this grommet/bung in the boot??
So many people talk about it, but I can't find it lol
  18. #18

    puller is useful
  30. #30
