Rolling Road Day

  1. #1
Just got back from a rolling day at Alan Jefferys in Plymouth.

Was 5 of us down there all with different motors and a variation in power.

    Anyway, here we go!:

    Integra DC5 - 202Bhp @ the fly - Mods: DC Sports backbox
Volkswagen Vento - 96Bhp @ the fly - Mods: de-cat, Powerflow backbox and Ripspeed air filter
Saxo VTS - 123Bhp @ the fly - Mods: Raceland manifold, de-cat and K&N panel filter
S1 106 Rallye - 105Bhp @ the fly - Mods: Raceland manifold, CDA filter, de-cat, Magnex cat back and a PH2 Newmans cam with a Kent pulley

The results seem varied and maybe a bit dissapointing in some areas but was a good day overal

poor result from the rallye with those mods surely
  3. #3
poor results for the vts too ...
  4. #4
rolling road might of been shite. not necesarily the cars power output.
  5. #5
Poor result from the dc5 aswel, should be about 215bhp standard depending on fuel used. Rolling road must read abit low...

Have to agree we did feel that the result were down by about 5-7bhp from what we were expecting.

Was gd to see the power curve on the Rallye and VTS was really smooth, no flat spots and nice amount of Torque. Guy said it was a nice healthy engine

Theres no way that Rallye one is right!

    are they not 103bhp standard?
  8. #8
That 106 rallye does not sound right at all lol.... did he start the engine on this rolling road?..

alan jefferies rolling road is a very good piece of kit, its a dyno dynamics rolling road which have a very good reputation. In the south west area he has a reputation for having the most accurate rolling road.
I organised a rolling road day for a local car tuning club and we used alan jefferies then, 23 cars ran. everybody was pleased with the results and there were several people that had ran their cars elsewhere that were very satisfied.
however, if it is reading too low, that would mean mine has more than 185 bhp, so i'm not going to argue it anymore.

I'd put money on the cam timing being wrong

That reading from the 106 Rallye is shocking!

Just to add that the Rallye hasn't been remapped yet and the PH2 Newman cam is actualy a very good bit of kit.

Not sure what to make of the results really. I can only assume there is a lot of bs on the Internet! (140Bhp from a VTS with a backbox and filter springs to mind lol)

    Ah well!

still would make more power than standard even if it wasn't remapped.

I'd say its more likey to be realistic power and not saying the car got more power than if really has
