I have been looking into getting a vts engine and turboing it, but thinking about getting bike bodies for cost and reliability reasons instead of turboing. what would be best bike bodies to get? do they still keep the injection as heard some people say dont but seen bodies forsale and are injection ones. what sort of power would i be looking at if fitted to vtr? and vts? with 4 branch and full system. What sort of price would i be looking at not including remap.

#2well you wont need a remap, you will need a new standalone ecu, as far as im aware.
i looked into this a while ago, got up to £1500 of parts in my list and figured id jsut spend that money of driving the car, not making it faster.

#3you would want to cam and then fit them much better gains , cam and bodies together will get you near 160 bhp on a vts
god knows what you would gt outta a vtr?

#4also you can get 155bhp with out bodies, on a std intake, for 5hp, £1000 worth of bike TB's is not really cost effective, unless your going forged, high comp, mental cams as suvvys says.

#5im running R6 boddies need an ecu at the moment but when i was running the emerald management it was very very fast. i cant give power figures as havent had it rolling roaded but the noise power and acceleration was brilliant
thats with standard cam 4 branch and supersprint exhaust. oh and a s1 rallye box

#10think you need a standalone mate, is it for a vtr or S, as i think GSXR1000's are 48mm and rather to large for a vtr, i could be wrong.
id ecpect 160hp with full map and cams, manifold, good induction kit and a good exhaust system. -

#16jsut buy a vts engine, and fit that, you will be stunned what 30hp and a usable power delivery can achieve .
then mabe cam it, with a remap and you can get upwards of 160hp.
my VTS is cammed but no map, i recon about 140hp with other mods, but its super stripped, i mean SUPER its about 720kg and goes like fuck, corners like fuck and brakes.......you get the idea -

#22brad its not the bhp though that has such a benifit, you cant really measure increased throttle response on a set of rollers, although bodies should give a better midrange.

#24bodies will do the same, getting them fitted with a good, bench flowed manifold, along with a standalone, is another story

#25personally im not a fan of bike bodies, just seen alot of set ups that look bodged to me.
alot use silicone to mount them to an inlet that isnt ideal. A few seem to bodge the throttle linkage to -

#33Well that what i was going to do, get the bodies for a vts but want to get the vts engine and clean it up n paint it,etc before goes in. What cams,etc would be good setup? i got car all stripped to for power to weight. Could i fit a vtr 4 branch manifold to vts engine?

#43hi people, are these throttle bodies easy to fit as i have wondered about them for ages. they seem pretty cheap on ebay an have wanted to modify my vts for a while. the only stuf i have done so far is air filter an a decat which blows like mad at the flange!

#44No you cannot buy GSXR throttle bodies and bolt them to your car.
You need a manifold. A guy called Sandy Brown on the 106rallye forum makes a PnP one, so go see him. I think it's bodies to him, + £500 or something and he'll make them PnP.
Then you need management, which for a 1-plug VTS I can do very reasonably.
Cams, PH3 or 708's are the fashion, don't waste your money on piper or kent, because they are far too expensive for zero tangable gain.
4-2-1 manifold, supersprint exhaust, bodies, PH3's and management, and you'll be maxing your injectors but probably getting up towards 165-170bhp. At that level the car will totally fly.
