off with my head

    my car was a little smokey on start up so i suspected valve stem oil seals.

    now i have bought a new head set inc bolts.

    is there anything i can do to increase performance while the head is off? i cant afford a cam so that is out of the question.

    i was thinking of matching the ports shy of that is there anything else i can do?

    a good de coke wouldnt go a miss

    Always get them skimmed

    i remeber reading that by getting X amount skimmed of the head can increase compresion.

    It will increase power by getting the head skimmed, beacuse you are increasing compression. you can also get the different thickness gaskets from citroen/peugeot which does exactley the same thing

    i will be also taking my head off this week keep me posted as to how you get on matey as im in the same boat as you

    yeah i will do mate it should be that hard. im also going to be replaceing timing belt and tensioner while im doin it as well

    While your doing the timing belt change your water pump at the same time.

    i will try and get a few snaps up.

    ill also do my water pump there cheap

    port and polish sounds good.

    i was going to do some visual mods but f*ck it im going for some more engine.

    in the same boat fella, been looking into S/C but it looks like more hassle then its worth, also would be easyier to turbo it however not spending big bucks compromises on reliabily etc

    so i think TB's are the way forward. get some GSXR1000 or honda fireblade TBs, a lairy cam, omex standalone, jenvey inlet etc

    what you have in mind?????
