Misfire ? UPDATE Still Problems !

  1. #1
Basically my engine has developed a slight misfire

It does it like every 30 seconds and the engine management light flashes then it misfires. Whats the crack ?

Today is sprayed my rocker cover and to do this i had to take it off the engine and its only just started misfiring since then, the rocker is on tight and i think its sitting ok.

Another thing is i took the coil pack off to get better acces to the rocker cover, could this also be a problem what would you guys recomend ?

    UPDATE !

I refitted the coil pack again and yet again its still does it ! i have noticed one thing thow see pic below and the area with a circle round it,

The part with the cirle round it, basically the wire leading up to that has split but its still attached but only just hanging, soo am i right in guesing this is the problem, because as far as i can see there is nothing else to check, im a tad pissed off now as i need the car for work tommoro night, so i have from now till then to fix it.

    Any recomendations ?

    Change plugs ?
    Change coilpack ?
    Replace wire ?

Right then, iv had it plugged into a diagnostic and it machine said its the injectors. Now i seem to think otherwise, i have changed the spark plugs and nothing has happend its just doing the same thing, i pretty dead set on the coil pack becuase thats the only thing i fiddled with when i did the rocker cover so the injectors have no reson to fail what so ever tbh, anybody else know what the crack is. Or should i just buy new injectors ?

Right another update, i have just changed the coil pack and it works ! well it works a hell of a lot better but still slightly misfires only slightly thow, soo have i fitted the coil pack correctly or is it deffinatly the injectors ? because the mechanic has qouted me 74 pound each for the injectors and i need 4 and then 60 for labour and thats mates rates, soo i deffinatly want to make sure i have checked everything before i go out and buy new injectors.

anybiody else know whats happenen also when i disconnect the battery for bout alf an hour it stops the engine management light flashin all together and it stops the misfiring but about after 2 hour of driving it just comes back ?

I think im right in saying that resets the ECU and the ECU re-learns the fueling?
    may work

    worth a squirt tbh

    Or get yours cleaned.

Swapping them over should easy but a haynes manual will really help you out. Id rather have a go than spend £356 when a VTR engine is about £100 in good nick.

If you dont have a haynes PM me.
