Thanks Craig, Although it does not seem to appear there. Forgot to say mines the Mk1 Westcoast, Would that make a difference?

i posted a picture of the handbook with warning lamps on it.

now he can say - ooh yes its the red one in the middle

then someone says - ah yes, that will be your handbrake light, it appears your handbrake may be on.

    or similar

probably as that handbook is a mk2 lol.

just had those two pics in my photobucket from a while back

Looks a bit like a coolant symbol to me, check all the levels under the bonnet anyway, could be low coolant level

the warning lights would be identical between mk1 and 2 tbh...

where abouts did it flash up from? left right or middle ?
  11. #11
Its your oil, if it flashed for 15 sections its telling you to check your oil levels. Read your Saxo Owners Handbook (if you have one) all the dash lights are in there.

thought the oil one was the red one in the oil can? i.e. the red one in the picture above in middle cluster, 2nd to the left from handbrake light
  13. #13
It is, but i had the same light flash up and i checked it up, and it said check oil levels. I'm sure it did? lol
  14. #14
lol, fair doos. i think i can see the actual light in my head but havent a scooby doo what it is...

To me it looks like your immobiliser light have a look in the second pic on the lefthand side
  16. #16
immobiliser is square with key in it?

    Its the coolant ffs

If i remember correctly the mk1's dont have a temp gauge and if you get any probs it just has a light, and the coolant is the only one with 2 lines going across!

If you look very closely at VTR_Craig's pic at the coolant temp gauge its pretty much the same symbol as what has been drawn. A mk1 westy wont be the same as that pic though

Top your coolant up and see if it does it again

    = ECU Fault Code.
    Buy a fault code scanner,
read the code, fix the fault, clear the code.

(flashing for 15 seconds at start up) = Low Engine Oil Level.
Check the oil level, top up, or better still - give your car a service.

    = Low Oil Pressure.
STOP. Check the oil level. Top up if its low. Check for oil leaks. Take the cam cover off and make sure oil is getting pumped to the cam. If it is, replace the oil pressure sensor, if its not, check the oil pump and service the car with good quality oil.

    /End Thread.
