   hi, going to purchase a mk2 vtr gearbox, I was wondering if it would fit on my mk1 vtr?
   and what would be the best way to get a box out without an engine hoist or ramps?

   put car up on axle stands. put jack/axle stand under engine. then undo gearbox mounts. get someone/or you to lie under the car undoing the gearbox bolts and removing the gearbox.

   Yes, boxes are the same fitment mk1 & 2.

   what do you mean about the driveshafts, yes you do have to remove them to take the gearbox out
