vts engine help with pics

   ive been thinking of buying a cheap vts that i have seen but to keep the engine and brake the car, but ive also been offered this engine that is seffo running but has some cinnda oil/grease around the top thats shown in the pic, anyone kno whats worng with it and how much it would cost to fix

   rocker cover gasket gone?? and pissed oil all over the place maybe? this is what happened on my old one any way

   thats what i was thinking the rockercover gasket, how much would that be to fix?
   
   haha yea it is init, and its deffo a runner as ive been in the car just before it was scraped

   If thats the way he had the oil cap then it isnt closed
   
   No idea how he got a clump of grease ontop of the engine either.
   
   Simplest thing to do is get some de-greaser and scrub it clean then run the engine and try to pinpoint where the oils coming from. Chances are its just one of the liquid seals there & you will just need to redo them. Costs about an hour of your time and a £5 tube of liquid gasket.

   na thats not how it was run, that was me checking under the cap
