I own a mk 2 1.1, im looking to drop it 60/60 and i would like to know what springs people have used on there cars? im looking to spend upto £100 ish on the springs, im not botherd about the make just after a reletevlly cheap pair. any ideas what springs to go for and the best places to get them from?

also ill be dropping the rear end 60mm using the spline method, roughly how many splines does the t-bar need to be turned by to et the 60mm drop?

Never do torsion bars by splines, unless you want to spend 200 quid for a new beam a year down the line! Doing it properly, it isnt hard!!!

Spax do 60mm springs, cant remember any other makes tht do 60mm springs!
Can get them from demon tweeks or europerformance!

good luck getting a 60mm drop for saxos tbh..... not seen/heard of any consistant ones anyway

you look around on this site and speak to people, you will find people that buy 60mm springs and once fitted is not dropped close to that... ask saxobigbass for instance.

im on 50mm springs on the front, sits much lower than his "60"

thts because your engine in your vtr is alot heavier than a 1.1s engine!

Spax is about the lowest springs ive seen tbh

best way to do the torsion bar is by removing it , adjusting the trailing arm and then reinserting the bar.
you will find that the splines method isnt accurate and only lets you lower the car by either 40ish or 80ish. it also puts stress on the axle pins which you DONT really want going wrong. i hear the rear beam is quite a lot to fit
